Terms of Service
Written to be read. If anything here surprises you, ask us first: [email protected].
1. Who we are, and what agreeing means
T-Rating Sports ("we," "us") operates tratingsports.com. By using the site — browsing, claiming a trainer profile, registering a club, or submitting a review — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.
You must be at least 18 to create an account, submit a review, or contact anyone through the site. The service is for adults on both sides: trainers, and club staff.
2. What the service is
A directory of youth sports trainers, and reviews of those trainers written by staff at clubs that engaged them. We are a venue. We do not employ trainers, we are not a party to any engagement between a trainer and a club, and we take no commission on anything. What a trainer and a club agree to is between them.
That cuts both ways: you are responsible for your own interactions with other users, on the site and off it. Disputes between a club and a trainer are between them — we aren't liable for any user's acts or omissions, and clubs should do their own screening before any engagement (see section 3). Trainers and clubs are not our employees or agents, and nothing on the site — a badge, a verification, a ranking — makes anyone act on our behalf.
3. What "verified" means — and what it does not
When we mark a review verified, we mean exactly two things: the reviewer was staff at a club we verified as a real organization, and the review arrived through a single-use link we sent for a specific engagement.
Verification is not a background check. It is not a credential check, a safety screening, an endorsement, or a guarantee of anything. We do not screen trainers. Clubs are solely responsible for their own vetting — including any background checks or safeguarding requirements that apply to work with minors in their state, league, or organization.
4. No minors, anywhere
No one under 18 may use the site, and the site holds no information about minors. Do not put an athlete's name — or anything that identifies a child — in a review, a profile, a message, or anywhere else. We remove content that names a minor, and it's easier for everyone if it never goes up.
5. Trainer accounts
A profile is one human — you. Reviews are personal to the person who did the work, so accounts can't be shared, pooled across a staff, or transferred. What you list must be true: real clubs, real seasons, real roles.
By listing an engagement you authorize us to contact that club and invite its staff to review you. That's the product working as described, not us sharing your data.
Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account, and if you think someone else has gotten in, tell us right away.
Listing is free while we build. If we introduce listing fees, existing account holders get at least 30 days' notice, and nothing is ever charged without your explicit signup. Payment will buy a listing and nothing else — it will never change a review, a verdict, or an unlabeled ranking.
6. Reviews
By redeeming a review link you confirm that you're over 18, that you were staff at the club during the engagement, and that what you write reflects your honest professional assessment. Your review publishes with your name, your role, and your club's name — attributed, never anonymous — and by submitting you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display it as part of the service. Nobody is compensated for a review, on either side.
Reviews cannot be edited, and are never removed at a trainer's request. We remove a review only when the engagement wasn't verified, when it names a minor, or when it is abusive rather than evaluative. If you wrote a review and believe it misstates what happened, contact us — where a correction is genuine, we remove the original and issue a fresh review link, and the replacement goes through the same verification as the first.
Verdicts and other aggregate figures are computed from reviews at clubs that are verified at the time of viewing. They are arithmetic, not our opinion, and they change when the underlying facts change — including when a club loses its verification.
7. Contacting a trainer
When you use a contact form to reach a trainer, we forward what you submit — your name, role, work email, and message — to that trainer, immediately. The conversation and anything that comes of it is yours and theirs, not ours.
8. What you may not do
Invent clubs, engagements, or identities. Review yourself, arrange to be reviewed by someone acting on your behalf, or offer anything of value for a review. Nominate your own address under any spelling. Scrape or harvest data. Interfere with the service, or use it to harass anyone. We suspend or remove accounts and content over any of this, and integrity violations are the one category where we don't warn first.
9. Content and ownership
You own what you write. You give us the license needed to run the service: hosting, displaying, backing up, and including your content in the pages and emails the service sends. Suggestions you send us about the service are ours to use, free. The site itself — code, design, name, and the aggregate figures we compute — is ours.
If you close your account, your profile comes down. Reviews are their authors' statements about real engagements and may remain published, handled per our privacy policy.
10. Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. Reviews are the opinions of their authors — we verify who wrote them and where, not whether every word is fair. We don't guarantee engagements, outcomes, uptime, or that any information on the site is error-free.
To the fullest extent New Jersey law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You'll defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.
11. Leaving, changes, and the law
You can stop using the service anytime; email us to delete your account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we change these terms materially, account holders get email notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Notices we email to your account address count as notice in writing.
These terms are governed by New Jersey law, and disputes belong in the state or federal courts of New Jersey. Talk to us first — most problems are a misunderstanding, and [email protected] reaches a human.
